Dr. Elizabeth McLaren

Hello!

I’m a developmental interventionist and early childhood special educator with 20+ years of experience and a passion for teaching both children and adults. My professional training is in the field of early childhood special education, and I hold my master’s and doctoral degrees in special education.

  • I’ve taught infants and preschoolers in childcare, Head Start, and public preschool.

  • I’ve taught aspiring and practicing early childhood special education teachers during my 12 years as a university professor.

  • I’ve supported public preschool and childcare teachers in professional development classes.

  • I’ve coached parents and caregivers as a developmental interventionist with First Steps.

You could say that I love helping others to learn and grow!

I’m also the mother of two young children so I know first-hand the joys and worries that come with parenting.  I understand the power of working with an experienced and compassionate partner when you need support and new ideas.
