Writing Activities

I came across a site recently with lots of creative ways for children to practice their pre-writing and writing skills. While it’s not best practice to “drill” children on writing letters using flashcards or workbooks, providing open-ended and creative opportunities for kids to strengthen their fine motor skills (getting the little muscles in their little fingers strong and ready for holding a pencil) and their visual skills (recognizing the shapes and forms of letters) is wonderful! Keep it play-based and fun so your little one is motivated to keep practicing. Hopefully one or more of these activities will excite you and your child!
